We are absolutely thrilled! In the municipal elections, our joint ticket won 25.41% of the vote, clearing the runner-up by more than seven percentage points.
Four years ago, 17% of voters backed us, earning us nine seats. This year, you entrusted us with 13 out of the 45 seats on the Prague 8 council. This is not just a fantastic result—above all, it is a massive responsibility.
Turquoise dominates the map of Prague 8
We won in 63 out of 106 voting districts. And Karlín? You put us in first place in every single one of its 16 districts!
This result is about more than just a successful election campaign. It is the product of thousands of conversations, neighborhood meetings, and, most importantly, people who truly care about the future of Prague 8.During the campaign, together we:
- Engaged over 60 volunteers who took to the streets with us.
- Distributed more than 70,000 copies of our campaign newsletter.
- Hosted over 30 neighborhood gatherings and events.
- Gathered 265 specific suggestions from you on how to improve Prague 8.
Thank you to everyone who voted, helped out on the streets, contributed to the campaign, hung a banner on their fence, or talked us up to their neighbors. This victory belongs to you!
Not wasting a single minute: Coalition talks are underway
We celebrated on Saturday night, but we got straight to work right after.
As the election winners, we have initiated talks to form a new coalition. We invited all political groups that won seats on the new Prague 8 council to the negotiating table.
We respect the will of the voters and believe it is important to talk to everyone. No single ticket won an outright majority. To form a coalition, a minimum of 23 out of 45 councilors is required, and no two elected groups can reach this majority on their own.
Our priority is to find common ground on policy and build a stable coalition for change—one that can truly move Prague 8 forward.
We want to start delivering on our program and producing tangible results as soon as possible. The residents of Prague 8 do not just care about who sits in city hall; they care about what city hall actually does for them.
Thank you for your trust. Now we turn it into action for Prague 8.
This election result gives us a powerful mandate to change how Prague 8 is run. We accept it with deep gratitude and humility.
The campaign is over. Now is the time for cooperation, accountability, and real results.
We will keep you updated on the progress of the coalition talks. We will also continue to listen to your ideas, feedback, and the local issues that matter to you in your neighborhoods.
We celebrated on Saturday night. Now, we are back to work. Because Prague 8 deserves better!
