We offer a clear path to a new coalition

Immediately after our election victory, in which our joint ticket "8žije, Praha sobě, and the Greens" secured 25.41% of the vote and 13 seats, we initiated talks on the new leadership of Prague 8.

Our priority is to form a stable, effective coalition that will bring change after years under the current town hall leadership.

We consider the Starostové a TOP 09 – Společně pro Prahu 8 alliance to be our natural partner, and we have offered to form a coalition together. Along with the Pirates, this cooperation would yield a comfortable majority of 25 out of 45 seats.

Such a majority would allow for the creation of a new district leadership, backed by shared policy priorities and capable of pushing through real reforms.

Offices are not the goal. They are the means.

As the decisive winners of the election, we have a natural claim to seek the mayoral post. Nevertheless, we are prepared to negotiate stepping aside from this position if it helps establish a stable coalition for change.

Our concern is not who sits at the helm of the town hall. Our concern is how the town hall functions and what it can deliver for the residents of Prague 8.

We want leadership that is more open, manages finances better, listens to residents, and finally moves forward long-delayed projects.

That is precisely why we are ready to seek compromises on personnel questions. However, we remain clear on our policy priorities and our commitment to changing how the town hall operates.

The decision is now up to the STAN & TOP09

The offer for a joint coalition has been on the table for several days. We believe that the Starostové and TOP09 will seize this opportunity and, together with us and the Pirates, enable the formation of a new leadership for Prague 8.

Coalition talks are still ongoing, and the outcome has not been decided. Our ambition is to find a consensus that works not just on paper, but above all throughout the next four years.

Voters gave us a strong mandate for change. We will do our utmost not to let them down.

Thank you for your support and trust. We will keep you updated on further developments in the negotiations.
