1. A contact for every neighbourhood, from Čimice to Karlín
We have 8 neighbourhood contacts for all the neighbourhoods: Bohnice, Staré Bohnice, Čimice, Kobylisy, Ládví, Holešovičky and Troja, Libeň, Karlín. You can turn to them with suggestions about your own surroundings. The contact passes the suggestion on to the responsible officials and makes sure it is dealt with. We will prepare a participatory budget so that you can vote on what you want to improve around you. We care about the whole of Prague 8 and every part of it.
2. A mayor who cares
We will give the town hall back to people; you will no longer run into official silence. Mayor Václav Stránský, the councillors and our neighbourhood contacts will hold regular meetings in the individual neighbourhoods, answer your e-mails and publish their priorities and results. You will know who is responsible for what and when your suggestion will be resolved. The mayor will be a strong partner for the city hall, the state and the Central Bohemian Region, so that he can push through the interests of Prague 8 in transport, education, safety and the development of the district.
3. Nová Palmovka must stop haunting people
Immediately after taking office, mayor Václav Stránský will open talks with the City of Prague, the state and other partners so that the debts left by previous administrations are finally settled and unfinished projects are completed: Nová Palmovka, Libeňský most and ZŠ Rohan. Nová Palmovka can be the seat of an important public or international institution; it can still be the European Space Agency. But we have to act now, wait for nothing and turn Palmovka step by step into a place where you want to spend time.
4. Safe transport for everyone and repaired pavements
We will develop safe and smooth transport for pedestrians, public transport passengers, cyclists and drivers. We will focus on safer pedestrian crossings, especially near schools, support smart traffic-light control and reduce the negative impacts of through traffic. We will look for ways to increase the availability of parking spaces. Every year we will set aside CZK 20 million for pavement repairs. As the Prague Ring Road is completed, we will demand appropriate compensation for the construction work for the neighbourhoods of Prague 8.
5. Greener streets and order instead of excuses, including at metro stations
A clean and safe public space is our priority. We will clean up the areas around the Ládví and Kobylisy metro stations and fix the fountains that do not work. By the end of 2027 we will provide attractive benches without advertising. We will step up cleaning around the waste containers and add more bins. In the centre of each of the 8 neighbourhoods of Prague 8 we will prepare the reconstruction of an important square or street and plant green space there. We will strengthen the care of parks, the Ládví and Stírka swimming pools and green space in the streets, so that they are ready for drought and heatwaves.
6. Public amenities and culture on the housing estates too
Shops should be within walking distance, so we will negotiate with investors to keep or open shops in Kobylisy at Sokolníky, at Včely in Ládví, in the Nisa shopping centre in Bohnice, the Draháň shopping centre and in K Ládví street in Čimice, in Libeň and in other neighbourhoods. We will take care of a cultural programme for all generations in the community centres at Ládví and Krakov, in Divadlo Karla Hackera, in Velký mlýn and the Alta studio in Libeň and in other places. We will launch microgrants for community life. We will make school playgrounds open and provide more to do for teenagers. We will maintain children's playgrounds, build at least one new adventure playground and finish the playground on Dlážděnka.
7. Prague 8 has 200 empty flats – we will offer them to people
Prague 8 has over 200 empty flats and unused commercial premises. We will repair the flats and offer them to the people Prague 8 needs – teachers, municipal police officers, health workers and families looking for affordable housing. We will let the non-residential premises transparently: for culture and sport on fair terms, for commercial use at a market rent that brings money back into the district's coffers. You will find the list of municipal property, including information on how it is used, transparently on the Prague 8 website.
8. The best school should be the nearest one
We will expand the capacity of schools and nurseries in Libeň and Karlín so that by 2028 every three-year-old and every schoolchild in Prague 8 has a place in a nearby nursery or school, including in Karlín and Libeň. We will map the quality of schools and actively deal with problematic situations in them, as parents demanded during the protests against catchment-area tourism. We see head teachers as educational leaders, and we support modern teaching methods, prevention programmes and trips abroad. We will found the first municipal forest nursery in Prague 8. We will support healthy eating, exercise and teaching outdoors in outdoor classrooms. We will put solar panels into operation on schools, saving them running costs.
